Supplemental Information |
A combination of remote sensing (orthoimagery) as well as field collection, utilizing GPS technology was used to create this feature class. Sites were first generated using orthoimagery and King County assessor data. Any sites that were not found on the orthoimagery were collected using vehicles equipped with DGPS units. This layer is updated regularly, with primary source of updates coming from the addressing authorities for each community within the county. Explanation of CTYNAME: This is the city name that most likely represents the jurisdictional city in which the address resides from the USPS Zip Plus 4 data tables. Note: In order to ensure the right zipcode is selected from the Zip Plus 4 tables , a comparison is made with this city name and a city name derived from an overlay w/ city_area. Explanation of POSTALCTYNAME: This is the city name that most likely represents the postal city in which the address resides from the USPS Zip Plus 4 data tables. In most cases the CTYNAME and the POSTALSCTYNAME are the same. NOTE: If the FIELDS are NULL, That is an indication that the address point did not have a record in the USPS Zip Plus 4 data. |

Address_point is directly derived from King County's E911 ESite layer. All addresses are from that data source alone. Additional information is added to the address layer from a few sources. USPS zipcode information is added to the layer from a monthly download from the US Postal Service. King County Parcel Identification Numbers (PIN) is added using an overlay with the King County Assessor's parcel layer. The relationship of address points to King County Parcels is often many address points to one parcel. The primary address is flagged for each pin using the following logic. 1.) Where there is a one point to one polygon relationship, that single point is flagged as primary. 2.) Where all the addresses points have the same street address and only one non-zero house number the point with the house number is chosen. 3.) Where the minor number is '0000' chose all address matches with KCA condocomplex table. 4.) Chose the address that matches the lowest building number for from the KCA apartment complex table. 5.) Chose the address that matches the lowest building number for from the KCA commercial building table. 6.) Chose the address that matches the lowest building number for from the KCA residential building table. 7.) Chose the address that matches the address of the taxpayer from the KCA RPAccount table. 8.) Where all the addresses points have the same street address, choose the lowest address. 9.) Choose the lowest address of the most common street name. 10.) Get the lowest address of any of the street names. |
