IDXP7500_EXT - 7500-ft Tiling Index for Multi-County Area
Learn how to use GIS Open Data 🗺
Summary
This index is primarily a data processing, data storage level index which allows all raster and image data stored at this level to be maintained in a common, consistent tile and naming scheme.
It is based on the original IDXP7500 layer, but has been extended to cover a signficantly larger area than just King County.
Where it overlaps the original IDXP7500 grid, the two grids are identical.
Description
A spatial tiling index designed for storage of file-based image and other raster (i.e., LiDAR elevation, landcover) data sets.

The fishnet tool was used to create the grid so that it aligned with the original IDXP7500 grid. Where coincident the attributes were populated with a spatial join. New attributes were added for those cells outside of the original grid. Due to the naming convention, the extension to the west generated two columns that were duplicative of existing columns to the east of the original origin. These two western-most columns were delete to ensure uniqueness. This did not significantly affect the useable extent of the grid. |
