RTK Ground Check Points for 2016 King County/Puget Sound Lidar Consortium Lidar Project
Learn how to use GIS Open Data 🗺
Summary
Provide support for high resolution terrain elevation data from the PSLC King County Lidar dataset
Description
RTK ground check points are used to assess the vertical accuracy of the LiDAR data.
Data was processed in reference to NAD83 (CORS96), however the horizontal datum for this dataset is defined as NAD83 (HARN) as the difference is generally small and allows for greater ease of use with data in different datums.
The vertical datum is NAVD88, Geoid 03, and the data is projected in Washington State Plane North.
Units are in US Survey Feet.
Quantum Spatial collected the Lidar data from 02/24/16 through 5/25/2017.

Acquisition. Quantum Spatial collected the PSLC King County Delivery LiDAR data between 02/24/16 and 05/25/17. The survey used a Leica ALS80 laser system mounted in a Cessna Caravan 208B. Data was collected using a multi pulse flight plan. Near nadir scan angles were used to increase penetration of vegetation to ground surfaces. Ground level GPS and aircraft IMU were collected during the flight. Leica ALS80 Instrument Parameters (03/08/2016, 03/11/2016, 03/19/2016): Beam diameter: 26 cm, Pulse rate: 400 kHz, Maximum returns: 4, Speed: 145 knots, Overlap: 63 %, Laser power: 93.7 %, Field of view (FOV): 40°, Beam wavelength: 1064 nm, Frequency of GPS sampling: 2 Hz, Frequency of IMU sampling: 200 Hz, Swath width: 874 m, AGL: 1200 m, Average pulse density: 8 ppms Leica ALS80 Instrument Parameters (02/24/2016 - 03/05/2016, 03/18/2016, 03/28/2016): Beam diameter: 35 cm, Pulse rate: 340 kHz, Maximum returns: 4, Speed: 145 knots, Overlap: 63 %, Laser power: 93.7 %, Field of view (FOV): 30°, Beam wavelength: 1064 nm, Frequency of GPS sampling: 2 Hz, Frequency of IMU sampling: 200 Hz, Swath width: 857 m, AGL: 1600 m, Average pulse density: 8 ppms . |
