Summary

Provides spatial index to photo centers for raw aerial scans and provides time of day and date when imagery was obtained.

Description

The layer provides photo flight information about the collected imagery.

It is a reference for the raw image scans, it is not a index for tiled ortho imagery.

The index shows the photo centers for all three resolution areas: 0.25 foot, 0.50 foot and 1.00 foot imagery.

Change history

2/6/2013

Mapcon provided a second shapefile for all 12 inch collection.

Only those King County Upland records not yet included in the existing index were selected.

A python script was used to parse the items in the supplied shapefile into the full set of items in the schema of the production object.

Difficulty in merging or appending the existing production object and the new data into a single final object occurred due to different spatial types - the original production object was multipoint MZ while the new data imported as only Point.

Attempts to convert to a single geometry type were unsuccessful, so each objects table was exported to dbf, converted to xls, merged in Excel and then brought back into ArcMap as an event layer.

The event layer was exported to shape, then imported into the Maint database as featureclass ORTHO_IMAGE12_POINT.

Metadata was updated.

6/14/2012

Three separate shapefiles were provided by Mapcon.

Each shapefile represented one of each of the 3 resolution areas of the project - 3 inch, 6 inch and 12 inch.

A unique resolution identifier was added to each shapefile so that they could be appended into one file.

Additional attribute items were added and populated from information contained in other fields.

This was primarily done to extract key parts of the photo identifier, as well as parse separate information from the date/time field.
