Street Address

Summary

To provide an addressable address layer.

Best for symbolizing road classes and for cartographic representation.

Description

KC streets derived from the cadastral database where lines represent the mid-point of the parcel right-of-way.

Because it's parcel based, lines will not always align with the ortho photos.

A feature in ST_ADDRESS should exist if there is a property with a valid address.

A property such as an apartment or condo complex may have many streets within the property but only one street will be shown in ST_ADDRESS, containing the site address.

Use TRANS_NETWORK when the lines should more closely match the ortho photos.

Change history

6/20/2012

St_Address is updated quarterly.

A shapefile is created which contains all new type 1 arcs that have been added to the cadastal base - Boundary - since the last quarterly update.

Type 1 arcs are street centerlines.

These new centerlines are copied and pasted into the st_address layer and their attributes calculated.

Some streets are added that are not centerlines.

These streets are found by a review of pin_address - a parcel layer with the house addresses attached - and st_address.

If a parcel, or group of parcels, has a house address that doesn't correspond to any street around it, then it is determined that a street is missing.

An arc is then added from Boundary into st_address and the attributes calculated.

Ortho photos are used to determine which arc should be used to represent the street so that it is positionally accurate.

4/2/2009

Deleted Forest Service Roads from the feature class because they are non addressable.

St_Address is cadastral based and these roads were not based on cadastral features.
