Learn more by reading the GIS FAQ 🗺
Summary
To provide an addressable address layer.
Best for symbolizing road classes and for cartographic representation.
Description
KC streets derived from the cadastral database where lines represent the mid-point of the parcel right-of-way.
Because it's parcel based, lines will not always align with the ortho photos.
A feature in ST_ADDRESS should exist if there is a property with a valid address.
A property such as an apartment or condo complex may have many streets within the property but only one street will be shown in ST_ADDRESS, containing the site address.
Use TRANS_NETWORK when the lines should more closely match the ortho photos.

Change history
| 6/20/2012 |
St_Address is updated quarterly. A shapefile is created which contains all new type 1 arcs that have been added to the cadastal base - Boundary - since the last quarterly update. Type 1 arcs are street centerlines. These new centerlines are copied and pasted into the st_address layer and their attributes calculated. Some streets are added that are not centerlines. These streets are found by a review of pin_address - a parcel layer with the house addresses attached - and st_address. If a parcel, or group of parcels, has a house address that doesn't correspond to any street around it, then it is determined that a street is missing. An arc is then added from Boundary into st_address and the attributes calculated. Ortho photos are used to determine which arc should be used to represent the street so that it is positionally accurate. |

Deleted Forest Service Roads from the feature class because they are non addressable. St_Address is cadastral based and these roads were not based on cadastral features. |
