From King County

Description

2005 SWDM Flow Control Application designation.

Domain

Basic Flow - Areas where King County has determined that maintaining peak flows is sufficient to protect natural and constructed conveyance systems.

Conservation Flow - The default designation until a County-approved plan or study has determined that natural and manmade conveyance systems within the area are not sensitive to development-induced increases in runoff volume and durations.

Flood Problem Flow - Areas where the County has determined that a higher than average level of flow control is needed to prevent aggravation of existing documented flooding problems.

Change history

1/24/2005

This dataset was created by rating the King County Water and Land hydrological basins by several flow related characteristics such as flooding problems and runoff/drainage issues.

The basins were given an overall score and then dissolved to create larger areas with the same score/designation.

The incorporated areas (as of 1/03/05) and areas overlapping the forest production districts were removed.
