Abstract: Segments of roads with steep grades. Rate of grade is not inferred. Beginning of arc depicts uphill direction. This allows the arc to be symbolized in uphill direction.
Purpose: To show general areas of steep grade on roads. Initial use has been to show gradient for those features for the BIKE_FACILITIES_LINE (bikemap) layer. Therefore only selected features were encoded. At the same time not all features apply to this layer.
