Layer name: ZONING_KC_CONSOL_36Subject category: planningTitle: Zoning Designations for King County - 36 category schemeFeature Count: 40Feature Type: PolygonAbstract: Generalized zoning boundaries and codes for all of King County based on a 36-category scheme. The 36 zoning categories represented in this data layer were consolidated by King County GIS staff from the more than 800 unique zoning codes defined by King County and the various cities within the county. The layer was derived from the full countywide composite zoning layer: ZONING_KC_DETAIL_AREA.The zoning data for unincorporated King County was compiled by the King County Department of Permitting and Environmental Review. King County GIS staff compiled the remainder of the data layer either from digital data provided by individual cities, or from city-produced zoning maps. Zoning boundaries included in this layer for Muckleshoot Indian Reservation lands that are within the City of Auburn have been designated by the City of Auburn rather than by the Muckleshoot Tribe. These designation are therefore not authoritative and have no legal basis or enforceability. PLEASE NOTE: These data are not maintained on a regular basis and are several years out of date. No research, analysis, or decisions should be based on these data without verification of current zoning or land use information for the area of interest.Purpose: To provide a single contiguous, but generalized, data layer of zoning boundaries and designations for all areas of King County.Status: CompleteUpdated: AnnuallyTime period of content: (single date,as YYYYMMDD):: 20141031Time period of content: (date range, as YYYYMMDD):: - Spatial reference: WA State Plane NorthFGDC Documentation: Classic or FAQOpen Data Availability: UnknownPlace Keywords: Pacific NW, King County, Washington state, WA, Theme Keywords: planningCadastre, planning, zoning, Lineage: AvailableSupplemental Information: http://www5.kingcounty.gov/sdc/addl_doc/zoningcodesources.htm
